I love making decor that doesnt cost a thing! I needed a little something next to my front door. So with wood left over from my Headboard project and left over fabric I came up with this:
1. Cut wood all the same length (i didn't cut them all exactly the because I like the imperfect look)
2. staple together (or glue, your choice)
3. I stapled on both sides because I wanted it to look more rustic.
4. make sure if glued it is dry or if you have not stained the wood go ahead now.
5. attach some sort of claw hook to the back for hanging.
6. add your fabric flower
7. add buttons if you want
8. trim any excess fabric if needed
And there you have it! Super simple and it adds so much character to my front room!! hope you enjoyed this post! xoxo

Another mothers day gift Idea:
Hey guys I forgot to mention two other gifts that I think is pretty awesome. Have you ever heard of animoto? Well it is a website where you can make a picture montage with music and it is SO easy!!! I do them all the time. All you do is upload your pictures and music (they even have music you could choose from) It looks so professional. The most recent one I made is for my sons 2nd birthday so i';l share that one with you so you can see what it looks like. I know that my mom loves these videos and they make her cry every time. It is very special and personal. For a 30 second video it is FREE, I pay $5.00 a month (or one time fee if you only need it for 1 project) to have unlimited full length video. go to their website for all the information: Animoto
GREAT idea!
GREAT idea!
The other Idea I had is, My mom has a ton of family video tapes that she hasn't been able to watch for years because she no longer has the video camera she once used. I want to take all of her video tapes and get them transferred to DVD's. That is a priceless gift, don't you think? The only problem is I have searched and found a couple places but don't know the best source to go through. I found this one: http://www.joskermediavideo.com/
It seems like a great price.... THIS IS WHERE I NEED YOUR GUYS HELP!! if you or someone you know has done this before and have a recommendation on where to go PLEASE let me know!
Anyways hope you all have a GREAT day and thank you so much for stopping by!
xoxo

I took out my text of coarse so you can customize them to your liking! It is cute to have your own personal handwriting and also to finish it off with a hole punch and some ribbon or twine. Indoor herb garden
I don't know about you but I get so excited when I have FRESH herbs at my fingertips. I love having an indoor herb garden and I thought I would share with you how to make one! It is VERY inexpensive.
BTW It would make an amazing mothers day gift or a birthday gift! Here we go....
1. I had some extra wood pieces laying around from another project I did so, I used
- 1x4 (for the long sides) and cut 2 long pieces like over 1 foot (not exactly sure, but cut to whatever size you want.)
- 1x4 (short sides) cut 6 inches long
- 1-1x6 (for the bottom) cut the same as the 2 long pieces.
(check out step 6 in the picture, hopefully the sizes will make more sense)
2. paint the color of choice
3. while paint is drying move onto your glass jars (which I got from the dollar store..SCORE!!)
4/5. cut your burlap into 3 to 4 inch strips and hot glue gun the ends of the burlap onto the glass add twine if you want (I did its way cute, wrapped it around the burlap 3 times, as seen in last picture)
6. After paint is dry you can glue pieces together with gorilla glue or any tough glue OR you can use a brad nailor to get the job done which is what I did (sorry no picture of me in the action) :)
7. after paint is dry let distress it and make it look PuRdy!!
8. add a handle or knobs if you want and.... SO RUSTIC!! LOVE IT!!
now for the herbs:
1. Buy the potting soil (got mine at walmart for around $5) and herbs (about $3.50 a piece)
2. place rocks at the bottom of the jar for soaking the soil if I accidentally overwatered, especially because it has no draining holes.
3. place all your herbs in the little homemade box
4. I cut out tiny pieces of paper and wrote what herb it was and then glued it to a Popsicle stick, just to give it a little something extra!
Hope you enjoyed this post! SHARE THE LOVE!!! xoxo
